Description
This is truly a “plug-and-charge” solution and is 100% safe. it is impossible to draw more current than is available at the powerpoint and the tails work at the 3 most commonly found sockets, as follows:
10A GPO’s
Deliver current up to 10A, or approximately 2kW of power.
15A GPO’s
These outlets with a larger Earth pin (the vertical slot), and deliver current up to 15A, or approximately 3kW of power.

32A Industrial switched sockets (single or 3-phase, photo shows the 3-phase)
Delivers current up to 32A, or approximately 7kW of power.
Note the slot (or “keyway”) on the bottom of the outlet. This ensures only 32A 3-phase 5-pin plugs will fit. The keyway on the single phase 3-pin version is in a different location and ensures only 32A single-phase plugs will fit.
5-pin plugs will not fit into a single phase socket and 3-pin plugs do not fit into a 3-phase socket.
The closest “feature-for-feature” product (i.e. auto-sensing swappable tails) is the Tesla Gen2 Mobile Connector ($550), and when bundled with the 32A Connector Adaptor ($175), the Gen2 UMC cable organiser/holder ($30) and carry bag ($25) brings total cost to $780 — or buy this kit and save $35.
You can override the charging current in 1A steps downwards and the overridden setting is remembered between charging sessions. To remove the override manually set the charging current back to the default value for that tail.
Don’t be drawn-in to “half-baked” solutions offered by other re-sellers. Here are some examples:
- On powering-on the amperage defaults to 10A so if you charge 15A or 32A for your everyday charging you have to set the current every day, or
- On powering-on the amperage is downwardly limited to the maximum set by the tail but not upwardly.

When connected and powered on, tapping the Current button will display the current that has been automatically set on the LCD screen.

Compact and portable but is a serious unit. WiFi was much easier to set up than I had envisaged. I can remotely or locally alter the current to suit my preferences. However, auto sensing of which plug tail is connected limits the max current that can be set. This seems like a much safer approach rather than leaving it all up to the user to remember to change each time.
Build quality is nice and solid with metal case for main unit and comes with some useful accessories to wall mount and hold type 2 plug when not in use.
Very pleased with the suggestion from EV Chargers to have the 32amp tail configured with 5 pin industrial plug ensuring wider compatibility. Overall received some great tips during the phone chat prior to purchase.
