This 3-phase portable charger kit gives EV drivers with a 11kW or 22kW (3-phase) onboard chargers the flexibility of charging at 10A, 15A, 20A and 32A charging locations.

The tails connect to the portable charger with a simple “push-on” and “twist-off” action, and when connected and powered-on, the charger will sense the available current and automatically set the charging current.

When connected and powered on, tapping the Current button will display the current that has been automatically set on the LCD screen.

Description

This is truly a “plug-and-charge” solution and is 100% safe. it is impossible to draw more current than is available at the powerpoint and the tails work at the 5 most commonly found sockets, as follows:

10A GPO’s
Common household powerpoints found everywhere.
Delivers current up to 10A, or approximately 2kW of power.

 

 

15A GPO’s
These outlets with a larger Earth pin (the vertical slot), and deliver current up to 15A, or approximately 3kW of power.

 

  • Industrial Power Outlets (3-phase) very common in rural areas and are found in workshops, machinery sheds and Council reserves. They are configured for 20A and 32A, and although higher amperage exist (40A & 50A) the 32A plug will fit into these also. Most industrial power outlets are 3-phase, i.e. you will see a large OFF-ON switch above an outlet with 5 large round pins as shown on this photo.

Deliver current up to 20A, or approximately 4kW of power.

Note the flat part on the bottom of the outlet. This ensures only 20A 3-phase plugs will fit.

Deliver current up to 32A, 22kW 3-phase or 7kW single phase of power.

The keyway on the bottom of the 3-phase outlet and at the top-right of the single-phase ensures only the correct plugs fit.
