This single phase portable charger kit gives EV drivers a compelling alternative to OEM-supplied 8A granny chargers and adds the flexibility of plugging in at 10A and 15A charging locations.

You will receive:

  • 15A single phase autosensing portable charger with:
    – 7.5m (total length) with Type2 charging plug,
    – Wi-Fi enabled (requires 2.4 GHz band) for remote control using the Tuya app,
    – Adjustable amperage settings in 1A increments,
    – Scheduled start charging time up to 23 hours in advance,
    – Large 2.8” LCD display showing charger settings,
    – Protection: RCD TypeA + DC6mA,
    – Thermal protection built into AU plug.
  • 15A tail fitted with 15A 3pin plug, 0.5m,
  • 10A tail fitted with 10A 3pin plug, 0.5m,

The tails connect to the portable charger with a simple “push-on” and “twist-off” action, and when connected and powered-on, the charger will automatically set the charging current allowed by the tail.

When connected and powered on, tapping the Current button will display the current that has been automatically set on the LCD screen.

Description

This is truly a “plug-and-charge” solution and is 100% safe. it is impossible to draw more current than is available at the powerpoint and the tails work at 10A and 15A power sockets, as follows:

10A GPO’s
Deliver current up to 10A, or approximately 2kW of power.

 

 

15A GPO’s
These outlets with a larger Earth pin (the vertical slot), and deliver current up to 15A, or approximately 3kW of power.

 

 

You can override the charging current in 1A steps downwards and the overridden setting is remembered between charging sessions. To remove the override manually set the charging current back to the default value for that tail.

Don’t be drawn-in to “half-baked” solutions offered by other re-sellers. Here are some examples:

  • On powering-on the amperage defaults to 10A so if you charge 15A or 32A for your everyday charging  you have to set the current every day, or
  • On powering-on the amperage is downwardly limited to the maximum set by the tail but not upwardly.
