This is the perfect replacement for OEM-supplied “granny” charger giving EV drivers a 3kW (single phase) 6A to 15A (adjustable) portable charger with the added benefit of remote access to control the charging current during charging via Wi-Fi. Perfect for adjusting the charge to match the amount of excess solar generation from the couch.

Description

Common power points (known as General Power Outlets, or “GPO’s”) are found in every house-hold, garage, and shed and often in public spaces.

Next time you are out and about look around you – they are everywhere, hidden in plain sight.

Our 3kW portable charger is delivered to you with a fixed 15A plug that is used to charge from a 15A GPO.

10A GPO’s can also be used to charge your vehicle provided you use a 15A to 10A adapter with built-in circuit breaker, (here is our recommendation, but there are cheaper alternatives here and here) and remember to set the portable charger to 10A (or lower) before plugging into your electric vehicle. The charging setting is remembered between charging sessions.

10A GPO’s
Deliver current up to 10A, or approximately 2kW of power.
You must use a 15A to 10A adapter to be able to plug into a 10A GPO.

 

 

15A GPO’s
These outlets with a larger Earth pin (the vertical slot), and deliver current up to 15A, or approximately 3kW of power.
