Type2 to Type2 Cable

Description

This is a Type 2 MALE to Type 2 FEMALE, which will allow you to charge your EV at any Type 2 Charging station that needs a BYO cable. These charging stations are commonly installed by local councils and businesses and are readily found on Plugshare.com – set your filter to Type 2 under ‘COMPATIBLE PLUGS’.  This cable connects to your EV’s Type 2 or CCS2 charging port.

For Tesla owners, EVchargers offer this cable with a button to open Tesla charge ports. This is a Tesla only product and (for now) available only for 16A-11kw version, although we can fit it to 7kW and 22kW cables as a special order.  The charge port button doesn’t just open the charge-flap, it also stops charging and opens the charge port in the same way as Tesla Superchargers, Destination Chargers or the Gen1/Gen2 UMC’s or when using the smartphone app.

Use the pull-down menu to select  Amperage/Power combination.

1. Tesla Model 3, Model Y, Model S and X with 11kW (48A) on-board charger, select 16A – 11kW.
2. Tesla Model S “classic nose” with 22kW (dual 48A) on-board chargers, and Model S/X ‘Raven’ owners with 17.5kW (72A) on-board charger, select 32A – 22kW.
3. BYD, MG and most other Chinese EV’s select 32A – 7.2kW. This is a single phase cable capable of up delivering 32A.

If a ‘one-size-fits-all’ is more your style, then select 32A – 22kW, this cable has you covered for all Type 2 stations for all EVs & PHEVs. This might be the best choice particularly for owners of EV’s with 11kW on-board chargers (e.g. Tesla, Polestar etc) who need a cable to plug into a home charger with a socket (e.g.  Zappi, Fronius Wattpilot Go) that is connected to the house’s single phase power supply, the 16A – 11kW variant will not deliver 11kW. Please select the 32A – 7.2kW variant — or — to get 3phase charging when using the cable at public charging stations please select the 32A – 22kW variant to guarantee maximum performance on single phase and 3phase power.

Lengths available are 5m, 8m or 10m. If you need reach longer distance, you must use a Type2-Type2 charging cable and one of our  Type 2 Extension cables, or contact us for a custom length Type2-Type2 cable order.
