Use this cable to charge your Tesla at 10A or 15A single phase outlets in conjunction with your Tesla Mobile Connector.
15A power outlets are commonly found in caravan parks, camping grounds, workshops and anywhere that higher current power is required.
Note: when using these cables, turn the amperage in the car down to 10A or 15A to suit the power available at the socket.
To use these cables with the Gen1 UMC, you will also need the Tesla euro-adaptor red “Pigtail” to connect to the UMC – we can include this in your order at the same cost as Tesla.
Use the pull-down menu to configure the socket on the tail to suit your Mobile Connector.
Gen2 users will also need the Gen2 Mobile Connector Adaptor configured with the default CEE 3pin plug.
Note for Model 3 and Model S or X Raven users – the 10A and 15A Gen2 MC tails included with your vehicle restrict the current to 80% of what is available – at 10A locations you receive only 8A, at 15A locations you only receive 12A …. a 25% drop in charging power coming into your vehicle. Using our 10A or 15A tails with your Gen2 MC enables the full current, so for any given period of time spent charging you will be at the same level of charge 20% faster. As a result of using our tails, don’t forget to turn down the amps coming into the car (on the Charging Screen) to 10A or 15A depending on the tail.
A real-world example would be if you were charging at 15A overnight at a caravan park, and your car tells you it needs 15 hours to reach your pre-set charge limit. If you plugged in at 6pm, you can’t leave before 9am the following morning. Now imagine you could leave at 6am – that is a three hour head-start to get to your next charging stop.
