An essential safety feature in case you forget to set your Wattpilot down to 20A. Tesla Model 3 and Y owners and everyone else with 11kW on-board chargers (e.g. Polestar, Mercedes etc) the vehicle’s maximum current draw is 16A.
Setting your Wattpilot to 20A is a mandatory requirement if your EV is capable of charging at greater than 11kW on 3-phase, e.g. early Tesla Model S owners with dual chargers or if your vehicle has a 7kW single phase on-board charger (e.g. BYD, MG).
